Characteristics of CNC four-axis machining
CNC four-axis machining was first used in the processing of curved surfaces, that is, the processing of blades.Now, CNC four-axis machining center can be applied to polyhedron parts,spiral line with rotary angle (cylindrical oil groove), spiral groove, cylindrical CAM, cycloid processing, etc., is very widely used.
From the processing products we can see that CNC four axis machining has the following characteristics:
(1) Due to the participation of the rotation axis, the machining of the space surface becomes possible, which greatly improving the machining accuracy, quality and power of the free space surface;
(2) The workpiece cannot be processed by the three-axis machine tool or the processing that requires clamping of excessively long parts (such as long shaft machining) ,it can be completed by the four-axis rotary table.
(3) Shorten the clamping time, reduce the processing process, multiple processes can be done through a positioning as far as possible ,which can reduce positioning errors.
(4) The tool has been greatly improved, extending the tool life.
(5) Conducive to production concentration.
Generally there are two processing methods in CNC four-axis machining : positioning processing and interpolation processing,it's corresponding to the processing of polyhedron parts and rotating parts.
